Accelerating Organizations
Climate change is an urgent, complex issue that requires the implementation of large-scale, system-level solutions. Getting this work done in a swift and equitable manner requires extensive coordination and collaboration across many agencies and sectors.
Since forming in 2014, the Accelerator’s primary role has been to facilitate collaboration among organizations that are working to address climate change and related concerns. By coordinating and aligning the climate initiatives of many local organizations, we increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our region’s climate movement, breaking down silos that would otherwise divide us. This allows us to leverage the combined power of our collaborative networks to achieve large-scale, locally relevant climate solutions.

Genesee-Finger Lakes Climate Collective
Building on its successful history as a collaborative organization, the Climate Solutions Accelerator is now using the principles of collective impact to effectively organize key stakeholders in coordinated action to expedite our region’s transition to a clean energy economy.
AMPED: Go All Electric
Because about three quarters of our region’s climate-changing greenhouse gas emissions come from our buildings and transportation, the Accelerator has spearheaded local efforts to promote beneficial electrification of building heating/cooling and transportation. After two years of planning by a steering committee of technical and creative experts, the AMPED: Go All Electric campaign launched on September 24, 2021!
At www.ampedproject.org, you'll find an inspiring launch video, valuable resources, event listings, a blog, compelling local success stories, and more!
